Flowing through Montana’s Rocky Mountain Front and fed by the snowmelt of the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex, the Sun River offers one of the most pristine fly-fishing experiences in the state. Fondly called “The Sun” by locals, this cool, clear water provides an ideal habitat for rainbow and brown trout.

Mark Young Outfitters is proud to manage over 10 miles of private river access along our family-operated ranch. From April through September, we offer guided fly-fishing trips led by experienced, friendly guides who know these waters intimately. Whether you’re a beginner learning to cast or an experienced angler chasing trophy trout, our guides will help you find the best stretches, hatches, and flies for success on the Sun River.

For those who prefer to explore at their own pace, do-it-yourself (DIY) access is available on our private ranch waters and smaller streams like Elk Creek. With our on-property lodging, you can stay just steps away from world-class trout fishing in the heart of Augusta, Montana.

Our guided trips provide the ultimate fly-fishing experience on the Sun River. Depending on water conditions, we tailor each day to ensure optimal success and enjoyment. Trips may include wade fishing or floating, depending on season and river levels.

Full Day (8 Hours): $650 per day for 1–2 anglers
Includes rods, reels, tackle, and sack lunch.
Half Day (4 Hours): $450 per day for 1–2 anglers
Includes rods, reels, and tackle.

To provide a quality experience, we limit guided trips to two anglers per guide. Larger groups are encouraged to choose our DIY fishing options.
